‘Star Wars’: Fans Freak Over Luke Skywalker Missing In New ‘Force Awakens’ Poster

There has been a huge disturbance in the Force. Luke Skywalker is not on the new poster for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’ The lack of Mark Hamill’s iconic character has Star Wars fans freaking out on social media!

Could it be an evil plot by the Empire? The newest poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released and Luke Skywalker is not on it! While Han Solo (Harrison Ford, 73) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher, 58) are there, the character that Mark Hamill, 64, brought to life in the original trilogy is nowhere to be found. This has fans worried that Luke has died or that he possibly turned to the Dark Side!

The next Star Wars movie won’t hit theaters until Dec. 18, but fans are already grabbing their light sabers and blasters over the newest twist. The new poster for the movie seems to feature everybody — from newcomers like Rey and Finn to classic characters like Chewbacca and R2-D2 — except Luke Skywalker.

The hero who made Star Wars a cultural phenomena, left off the poster? This is more embarrassing than the video of Luke getting crushed to death under a foot of a giant AT-AT in Star Wars: Battlefront. At least the poster isn’t giving away movie spoilers, unlike how the official Star Wars: The Force Awakens Halloween costumes did! Still, the mystery of the missing Skywalker remains.

Some fans weren’t thrilled for the Luke-less artwork. Some could not “stop wondering about why, why, WHY” he wasn’t included, claiming that there’s a “specific reason” for Luke’s absence. Others called it “disturbing,” and even pointed out that there hasn’t been a lot of Luke in any of the promotional materials. is Luke even in the movie?

Maybe? One fan speculated that since he wasn’t on the poster,  Luke was “dead,” “missing” or had finally gone over to the Dark Side, just like his father, Darth Vader (spoiler alert!)

Mostly, everyone just freaked out. It seemed like everyone was ready to search a galaxy far, far away in order to find him – or even tweet Mark Hamill himself for an explanation!

Why do you think Luke wasn’t on the new The Force Awakens poster? Leave your own theories below.
