The FABPAN Awards 2015 is here and the nominees for the King and Queen of sports awards has been released with the like of Vincent Enyeama, Obafemi Martins and Blessing Okagbare receiving nominations.
For the King of sports category, the likes of Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama, CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa and former Super Eagles striker,Obafemi Martins have been nominated.
In the Queen of Sports category, BBC women world footballer of the year, Assisat Oshoala, Nigeria based women 100meter champion, Ese Brume and sprint queen Blessing Okagbare have been nominated.
Kano Pillars of the Nigerian Professional Football League have been billed to be recognized for their efforts in going over two hundred matches at home without defeat.
The honorary award will see former Africa 100meters champion, Mary Oyali, former Falcons Chief Coach, Eucharial Uche, former Olympic gold medalist, Chioma Ajumwa, President of Nigeria Basketball Federation, Tijani Umar and several other dignitaries from other works of life compete for top honour.
Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Romanus Osang who spoke with 2muchsport.com said the award was created to honour Nigerians who are doing well in their sport as well as Nigerians who are doing what they do to promote grassrook development of sport.
According to Osang, other categories will include the Miss Falconet beauty pageant where the winner will win a brand new car, the Queen of Basketball award, Queen of Athletics and Golf award, and Queen of Wrestle-mania and Boxing Nigeria award.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Musa will be hoping to lead the Eagles to victory over Niger republic on Tuesday after the teams dire goalless draw against Tanzania in an AFCON 2017 qualifier match.
