George Clooney had the honor of being Stephen Colbert’s first guest on The Late Show premiere, Sept. 8, and the subject quickly turned to his gorgeous wife, Amal Clooney. George, who once swore he’d never marry again, revealed what it’s like being married to a beautiful and smart woman who is always stealing the spotlight!
You might think that George Clooney, 54, is annoyed that everyone seems to be more interested in his wife, Amal Clooney, 37, these days, but he actually loves it. The actor, who is about to celebrate his one-year-wedding anniversary on Sept. 27, was always famous for dating models and living the bachelor lifestyle but he told Stephen Colbert that he’s finally met his match both physically and mentally with his human rights lawyer wife.
“Because she’s a very serious person.She must say, ‘We’re going to meet some extremely intelligent people tonight,'” Stephen joked. George totally agreed and said that now he’s the arm candy in the relationship: “[I feel] shiny and pretty. That’s mostly what I do now. That’s mostly what I do.” How adorable is George? When Stephen congratulated him on his upcoming wedding anniversary, he joked: “They said it wouldn’t last.” We just love that he can laugh at himself and have a good time talking about his marriage.
Amal was thrust into the spotlight and sometimes people forget that Amal is constantly in court representing high powered individuals in very intense cases. Most recently she appeared in court in Cairo where she was representing journalist Mohammed Fahmy, who was sentenced to three years in jail, for his alleged ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
